Biography

Chong-Yang Zhang received the B.S. and Master degree in Electronic Engineering from Air Force Engineering University, Xian, China, in 1997 and 2000, and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 2008. He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Electronic Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China. His research interests are in the area of video processing theory and application, in particular, video coding and transmission, video content analyzing and description, Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition, intelligent video surveillance and embedded multimedia system.

Dr. Zhang has published over 30 journal/conference papers on these topics, such as IEEE signal processing letters, IEEE transaction on Circuit System for Video Technology, and Signal Processing: Image Communication. As the principal investigator, he has owned or joint over 10 projects or grants from various agencies in China, such as the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) project, National Key Technology R&D Program of China. He has served on various IEEE conferences or journals as a reviewer.
