   Study Tours and Visits to Shajia Creek and Compassion Donates to An Qi Primary School

  

         More than 20 members of the Communist Party from Department of electronic engineering Shanghai Jiao Tong University took a study tours and visits to Shajia creek  (Chang Shu city, Jiang Su Province) , May 23-24, 2014. And held compassion donates to An Qi primary school, the largest local primary school and kindergarten for children of migrant workers.

         Shajia creek is a national patriotic education demonstration base and famous for its Beijing Opera story. This story is basically a battle of wits among members of the Communist Party, members of the KMT, local bandits, and the Japanese in the background of the Second Sino-Chinese War. The main role of this drama is a women member of the Party, named A Qing, that worked underground as a controller and point of contact to unite as more Chinese as she could to fight Japanese invading. However, it was not an easy job at all since people that belong to different parties and gangs didn’t have belief in common and they fought with each other. That required A Qing to be full of wits and courage to protect her own comrades and at the same time destroy her enemy.

         On the noon of May 23, all members set out from SEIEE Building, and arrived at Shajia creek after 2 hours. Firstly, they visited Shajia Creek Revolutionary History Museum, which demonstrates how local people covering wounded Red Army soldiers from being found by KMT. After that, all members took a boat in the reed marshes to realize profound feelings between the party and the people during the period of Anti-Japanese War. 

 

 

    

 

      On the morning of May 24, Party delegates went to An Qi primary school, which is the largest local primary school and kindergarten for children of migrant workers. This school includes about 1400 children in primary school and about 800 children in kindergarten. All members made donations including basketball, volleyball, badminton and cash during this visit to An Qi primary school, especially professor Zhang Wenjun and professor Mao Junfa takes the lead in response. An Qi primary school headmaster Lu Tongyuan thanks to this donation.
